Drawing on the insights of ecofeminism, these collaborations with photographs I took of my pregnant self 13 years ago, explore the ethos that sanctions oppression based on race, class, gender, sexuality, physical abilities, and species. It is the same ethos that allows and perpetuates the oppression of animals and nature. Investigating the relationship between human beings, the natural environment, and animals in this moment of radical patriarchal overreach to control women’s bodies, we see a clear relationship between animal suffering and the oppression of women, and that our liberations are entangled.
People who are able to give birth are magical and sacred. We will never stop fighting for our rights to our own bodies.
