statement

This is a portrait project meant to capture the way it feels to return home, to the place where I grew up, and the way that home doesn’t seem to change, even when I haven’t lived there for more than 20 years. I always notice new things when I’m there and encounter an array of emotions, towards myself, and my parents, that are hugely unpredictable and difficult to put into words. It’s something to do with memory, distance, and the whole business of growing – growing up, growing away – such that perspectives are in constant flux, leading to new revelations and ways of seeing.
